British Grand Prix: Bruno Senna dropped for Silverstone

Brazilian driver Bruno Senna has been dropped by his Spain-based Hispania team for this weekend's in British Grand Prix at Silverstone.

"The drivers are Sakon Yamamoto and Karun Chandhok," said that Hispania principial Colin Kolles, referring to the team's drivers for the British GP.

Hispania have yet to come anywhere near to scoring a point this season.

Senna, nephew of the late great triple on champion Ayrton, signed for Campos in 2009 before it was rebranded Hispania.

With the 26-year-old Senna sidelined, Hispania's two drivers at Silverstone will by Karun Chandhok and Sakon Yamamoto.

At the most recent European Grand Prix in Valencia, Senna and the Virgin Racing's Timo Glock were called to the stewards after they collided while fighting for position in the race.

Senna, who made his F1 debut at in Bahrain this season, finished runner-up in the GP2 support series in 2008 and started on pole at the Silverstone in that championship as well as in Formula Three, but this weekend will be kicking his heels.

Kolles would not say why the Brazilian had been dropped but the team is due to issue a statement on Friday.
